Initially Cbt approaches focused on the management of depressive disorders. Now CBT has application with conditions that often cannot be treated effectively in other ways, such as:
anxiety panic attacks phobias OCD obsessive compulsive disorders eating disorders such as bulimia and anorexia nervosa somatic problems and psychosomatisation disorders sexual and marital problems excessive worry, generalized anxiety social and interpersonal anxiety and phobias sleep disorders stress management anger management rigid and inflexible traits such as, for example, perfectionism fear and management of conflict fear of making decisions addictions such as gambling and pornography substances abuse bereavement including loss of a relationship or loss of status
CBT is also proving to be an effective approach in providing life, executive, motivational and sport coaching.
